Our open channel flow measurement section includes our Microflow products which deliver accurate and efficient velocity flow measurement, presented either as a stand-alone device or as part of a complete area velocity flow meter system. On the other hand, our liquid flow monitoring in pipes include our Flow Pulse which is a unique product, non-invasive flow sensor that clamps to the outside of a pipe and is simply secured with a screwdriver. Lastly, our solid flow monitoring products include the Pulsar Guard series – an acoustic sensor range that offers reliable solid flow detection.
FlowPulse is a non-invasive flow sensor that clamps to the outside of a pipe and is simply secured with a screwdriver. The sensor uses a novel spread spectrum analysis technique, which incorporates a Digital Signal Processing approach that gives exceptional repeatability. FlowPulse fires ultrasound through a variety of pipe walls (rigid plastic, stainless steel, cast iron, and even corrugated pipes) at 90 degrees to the flow via a tangentially mounted high-output ceramic, it is then refracted at angles across the axis of the flow and is then reflected from bubbles, particles, and vortices in all directions at a wide range of frequencies – which is why the ideal application for this product is within dirty/contaminated flow.
FlowPulse HandHeld controller is an optional mobile controller that provides portable flow monitoring when combined with the FlowPulse Sensor, offering a toolset that allows programming, monitoring, and data acquisition. The unit connects to pre-installed FlowPulse sensors or operates as a self-contained kit, with instant feedback via its color screen.
The FlowPulse HandHeld is available as a stand-alone unit to use with existing FlowPulse sensors or can be purchased as a complete kit with FlowPulse and a convenient carry case, complete with mains or battery operation, with an in-car charger.
MicroFlow delivers accurate and repeatable velocity flow measurement, either as a stand-alone device or as part of a complete area velocity flow meter system. Velocity x area calculation using MicroFlow provides a cost-effective flow measurement option compared to the installation of a primary measurement device, such as a flume or weir, and provides a viable alternative where the hydraulics of a site does not allow for a restriction of the channel.
For channels less than 1.5 m (4.42 ft) wide, MicroFlow can operate as a stand-alone sensor, or be combined with the Velocity Interface controller. For channels that are more than 1.5 m (4.92 ft) wide, MicroFlow can be combined with a dBMACH3 flow transducer and a FlowCERT controller, more than one MicroFlow sensor is often needed – in such cases, these sensors can be combined with a dBMACH3 flow transducer and an Ultimate Controller.
The extremely low power consumption of the MicroFlow-i makes it an ideal monitoring solution to remote sewer network access points that are difficult to reach and often have no mains power supply. These lightweight and compact sensors are ideal for spill monitoring, sewer network monitoring, sanitary sewer overflows, and event duration monitoring.
The MicroFlow-i delivers accurate, repeatable velocity measurement for liquid flow, either as an individual sensor or by providing HART communication protocol or a 4-20mA loop-powered signal into an accompanying data logging system.
Speedy is a steamlined, easy to fit liquid velocity sensor for use in channels, pipes or sections where no Primary Measurement Device (PMD) exists.
Pulsar’s Speedy velocity sensor communicates digitally and is designed to connect to Pulsar’s FlowCERT open channel flow monitor via FlowCERT’s on-board RS485, it provides the velocity measurement for velocity x head calculations of flow rate where no primary measurement device exists. Speedy can be mounted up to 250m from the FlowCERT controller. Speedy is available as a “wedge” sensor with a stainless steel base plate or as a pipe mounted sensor.
FlowCERT provides comprehensive flow monitoring with extensive data logging and control functions, for a complete range of flumes and weirs. Compatible with a range of both contacting and non-contacting sensors, with sensor options that have the ability to make your application MCERTS certified, FlowCERT is certain to give you the accurate flow measurement you are looking for.
The control unit can be used for open channel flow measurement both with and without primary measuring devices with both contacting and non-contacting options available. The Ultra Data Logger provides FlowCERT with data logging functionality, recording a wealth of information onto the 8 GB Micro SD card, enabling users to log a wealth of data for the lifetime of the unit.
Flow Monitor is a dedicated wall-mounted device that is for use with Pulsar’s FlowPulse flow sensor, in fixed or permanent installations. The Flow Monitor can be either AC or DC supplied, providing the power and interface for the FlowPulse via a 4-core cable. The Flow Monitor expands the capability of FlowPulse, providing two relays that can be programmed as an alarm (relay 1) or control (relay 2) for flow or velocity. Alternatively, either relay can be programmed as a totalizer.
The monitor also provides an mA output and onboard logging, including a daily total, giving you more control over your process system – typical capacity for the monitor is 36 days flow logging at 1-minute intervals (using optional logging software). The convenient backlit LCD display gives a clear indication of flow rate and flow velocity and is menu-programmable via a set of function keys.
